Cantilever Racking

Cantilever racking is a type of industrial warehouse storage system used for storing long and bulky items, such as pipes, lumber, steel bars, and other similar items. Cantilever racks are specially designed to have a clear, unobstructed opening to provide easy access to the stored materials without having to deal with vertical obstructions like uprights or columns in order to reach goods or materials.

The main feature of cantilever racking are the horizontal arms that extend outward from a cantilever upright. These cantilver arms create a series of levels or shelves where the materials can be placed. The arms are typically adjustable to accommodate different load sizes and weights.

Support arms are cantilevered from a column either on the front only (single-sided) or both front and back sides (double-sided). The shelf surface can be open, where the items are placed directly on the arms, or solid, with a flat surface supported between the arms. Since there is no front column blocking the way, these racks can store items of varying lengths and sizes.

Key Features of Cantilever Racks

Cantilever uprights: Cantilever upright columns are the upright structure that the bases, arms and braces attach to form the cantilever rack system. Uprights can be used for both single- and double-sided systems.
Cantilever bases: Cantilever rack bases are the anchor of the cantilever system. They connect directly to the uprights at the base to act as the main stabilizing unit. For single-sided applications, one base on the front is used; for double-sided configurations, two bases are used, one on front and one on back.
Arms: Cantilever arms connect to the uprights and extend out to create a level or levels to store materials on. The adjustable arms allow for customization to match the specific storage needs, and can be bolted to the front or back side of the upright for single- or double-sided rack.
Braces: Cantilever braces are used to secure the upright columns together to provide both horizontal and diagonal support and stability for the cantilever system.

Cantilever racks are configurable in countless different ways, allowing a flexible solution to fit any type of storage needs. They can be used both indoors and outdoors and are found in warehouses and distribution centers across the world as an efficient storage solution.
